Why we started writing
Almost every question we get asked by a homeowner or a small builder has the same shape: is this the right material, and why does the quote say that number? The answers exist, but they are scattered across trade forums, sales brochures and articles written by people who have never lifted a slab.
So we started writing them down properly: what a material actually costs to buy, cut, ship and install; where the money goes; and which decisions you can reverse later and which you cannot.
What we cover
- Natural stone — marble, granite, limestone and travertine: selection, finishes, thickness, edge details and wastage.
- Lighting — layouts that work in real rooms, fitting types, colour temperature, dimming and control.
- Costs — how a square-metre rate is built up, and what pushes it up or down.
- Supply — lead times, sample approval, crating, freight and what to check on delivery.
How we pay for it
We sell stone and lighting. If a guide helps you specify something and you ask us to quote it, that is how this works. What we do not do is rank a material higher because it makes us more money, or take payment for a mention. Where a cheaper option is genuinely the better answer, the guide says so.
